Last updated: September 2026
Lashings of Beauty & Training (“LBT”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, stored and protected when you visit our website, use our booking and client management system, contact LBT, or book or receive treatments from one of the independent self-employed therapists operating from our salon.
WHO WE ARE
Lashings of Beauty & Training provides salon premises, facilities and a central booking and client management system used by independent self-employed therapists operating their own businesses from the salon.
The therapists operating from LBT are independent businesses and are responsible for the treatments and services they personally provide.
Depending on why your personal information is being used, it may be processed by LBT and/or by the individual therapist providing your treatment. Therapists using the central booking system are required to keep client information confidential and only access and use information where reasonably required in connection with their clients, appointments and treatments.

Some information collected during treatment consultations may constitute health information or other special category personal data and will be handled with additional care.
WHY WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
Personal information may be used where necessary to:
-
create and manage appointments;

send booking confirmations, consultation forms and appointment reminders;

OUR LAWFUL BASIS FOR USING YOUR INFORMATION
Depending on the circumstances and purpose for which information is being used, we may rely upon one or more lawful bases under UK data protection law.
These may include:
Contract – where processing is necessary to arrange, manage or provide a service you have requested.
Legitimate interests – where information is reasonably required to operate the salon and booking system, maintain appropriate business and treatment records, respond to enquiries or protect the legitimate interests of LBT, an individual therapist or a client, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Legal obligation – where information must be processed or retained to comply with a legal requirement.
Consent – where consent is the appropriate lawful basis, for example for certain optional uses of your information.
Where health information or other special category data is processed, an appropriate additional condition under UK data protection law will also be identified and applied. This may include circumstances where information is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
APPOINTMENT COMMUNICATIONS
We and/or your therapist may use the contact details you provide to communicate with you about your appointments.
This may include booking confirmations, consultation forms, appointment reminders, cancellations, changes and other information necessary to administer your booking or treatment.
These communications are service communications and are separate from marketing.
MARKETING
We may occasionally send information about services, treatments, offers or news where we are permitted to do so under applicable data protection and electronic marketing laws.
Where consent is required, marketing will only be sent where the appropriate consent has been obtained.
Where applicable law allows marketing to be sent without express consent to an existing customer, an appropriate opportunity to opt out will be provided.
You can opt out of marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe option provided or by contacting us.
Opting out of marketing will not prevent us or your therapist from sending essential communications relating to appointments or treatments.
OUR BOOKING AND CLIENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
LBT provides a central electronic booking and client management system which is used by the independent therapists operating from the salon.
The system may contain appointment information, contact details, consultation forms, treatment records and other information necessary to manage appointments and provide treatments.
Access to client information must be limited to legitimate business and treatment purposes. Therapists are required to keep their login details secure and must not access, use, copy or disclose client information for an unauthorised purpose.
We may use third-party technology and service providers to operate our website, booking system and other business systems. Where these providers process personal information on our behalf, appropriate data protection arrangements will be used as required by law.
SHARING YOUR INFORMATION
We do not sell your personal information.
Information may be shared where reasonably necessary with:
-
the independent therapist providing or responsible for your treatment;
-
providers operating our booking, website, communications or other business systems;
-
insurers, professional advisers or legal representatives where necessary;
-
regulators, law enforcement bodies or other authorities where legally required; or
-
another person or organisation where you have authorised us to do so or another lawful basis applies.
We will only share information where there is an appropriate reason for doing so.
HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION
Consultation forms, treatment records and associated client information are retained for 7 years in accordance with the insurance requirements applicable to treatments carried out at the salon.
Information may be retained for longer where this is reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim or where another legal requirement applies.
Other personal information will only be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory and business requirements.
When personal information is no longer required, it will be securely deleted or otherwise disposed of where reasonably practicable.
SECURITY
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration.
Therapists using LBT's central booking and client management system are required to keep their access details secure and maintain the confidentiality of client information.
No electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but reasonable steps are taken to protect the personal information held through our systems.
CCTV
CCTV is in operation both inside and outside the Lashings of Beauty & Training premises for the purposes of maintaining the security and safety of our clients, therapists, visitors, premises and property, and for the prevention and investigation of crime and security incidents.
Our CCTV records visual images only and does not record audio.
CCTV footage is normally retained for approximately 26 days, after which it is automatically overwritten, unless particular footage needs to be retained for longer in connection with an incident, complaint, insurance matter, legal claim or request from law enforcement or another relevant authority.
Access to CCTV footage is restricted to authorised persons and footage will only be viewed, used or disclosed where there is an appropriate reason for doing so.
Where appropriate, CCTV footage may be shared with the police, insurers, legal advisers or other relevant parties where necessary in connection with an incident, legal obligation, insurance matter or legal claim.
CCTV signage is displayed at the premises to inform clients and visitors that recording is taking place.
Individuals captured by our CCTV may have rights in relation to their personal information, including the right to request access to footage containing their image, subject to applicable data protection law and the rights of other individuals who may also appear in the footage.
YOUR DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights including:
-
the right to request access to personal information held about you;
-
the right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
-
the right to request deletion of information in certain circumstances;
-
the right to request restriction of certain processing;
-
the right to object to certain uses of your information;
-
the right to data portability in certain circumstances; and
-
the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on your consent.
These rights are not absolute and may depend upon the lawful basis on which your information is being processed.
For example, a request to delete information does not necessarily require consultation or treatment records to be deleted where there is a lawful reason or insurance requirement for retaining them.
You also have the right to object to the use of your personal information for direct marketing at any time.
